Geocache Description:

Located throughout the country are Standing Stones, the most famous probably being Stonehenge.

However, there a lots of similar stone circles, long barrow stones and single stones that many people are unaware of.

This series is our tribute to the less well known, but equally important stones, that are located within the Cotswolds.

Some you may know and have visited, some you probably have no idea are there.

We hope you enjoy the series which we plan to expand over time.

Chipping Norton

Little is known about this stone, but it's believed to be either a marker stone on the track to Rollright stones or possibly the last remaining stone from a Long Barrow.

It's likely to be the oldest part of Chipping Norton.

If anyone has any additional information on the stone, please get in touch.

FTF: Congratulations go to WeeFing!!
