This cache is hidden in the area that was once known as the Hamilton Estate (the local kids knew Mrs. Hamilton only as Granny Dee). The land was purchased by BC Parks Service in order to expand into their ‘Sandspit’ camping area along the lake.
There was a very large dwelling on the flat that the above coordinates take you to. Enjoy the view, and imagine what it must have been like with a 15 room house located in this area; complete with rose gardens, fountains, and the remnants of a swimming pool just down slope from where the house stood.
Once at these coordinates, you will find a large pine tree. The bearing and distance to the cache is 77 deg. N. at 66m. So bring your compass, a small trade item, your imagination, and enjoy this little walk through the Hamilton Estate. This should be a fairly easy find, you are looking for a small Rubbermaid type container measuring 4 ½ “ X 3 ½ “ X 2 ¼ “ high, with a blue lid. Please take care in re-hiding this, as there is very much traffic (mtn. Bike, hikers, joggers, xc skiers, snowshoers) at all times of the year.
