Geocache Description:

This cache continues the trashy theme I started with my "Buzzsaw" cache, though this is much larger than that cache's namesake.

This was to be a simple cache for beginners, then I discovered a cool spot that I wanted to share. To keep it simple I'll give you step by step directions to the area of the cache:

Drive to Tribble Mill Park outside Lawrenceville.

Note: the most direct way to the cache would be to head downhill at the dam and walk along the creek. However, as of 3/13/05 park maintenance personnel have blocked that route. To curb errosion caused by hikers and cyclists going down the steep hill sod has been planted and the trail blocked by brush and trees. Please respect this and enter the woods away from the dam. Suggest the trailhead at N33° 54.663 / W083° 53.967 for a nice easy walk.

Proceed to the cache at the posted coordinates. You can't miss the cache's namesake. It looks something like this:

This started as a logbook-only cache. That term is usually used in reference to microcaches with room for only a log book, but in this case it's an ammo can with more than a dozen log books in it. You fill out only one when you find the cache (it's obvious which one) and then you can take a log book to start your own cache with. More experienced geocachers are welcome to add their own log book to the collection, or just trade other trinkets if you like.

As usual there is trash scattered around to carry out (I supplied a couple of bags in the cache), just leave the cache's namesake - don't try to bag it.

April 9, 2004 Note: Cache was stolen in late March, replaced with a new one today. It is similarly hidden, but better. Please be sure it is completely hidden and covered! The new ammo can has been restocked with another 8 or 10 baggies containing log books, pencils, pens, and stash notes. These are trade items to be used to start other caches. When the log books are gone please just take and leave normal trade items.

12/1/07 Update: Replaced muggled ammocan with a cylindrical lock & lock container. Original log book was still there.

There is a letterbox somewhere in the area. Be sure it's the geocache you find and log.

1/13/13 update: Replaced muggled lock & lock with a replacement.

6/25/20 update: Cache placed 12/1/07 reappeared, so there were two to find. Removed it to avoid confusion. There is a nice new paved trail to the cache area. Continue on after it ends, don't cross the low footbridge to your left but continue on to the cache area...
