Every summer we camp for a few days at Trillium Lake. We kayak, fish, swim, and cook over a fire. And we always take a hike around the lake. This cache was hidden during our 2017 hike around the lake.
The container is “small” size, but the log is in smaller waterproof container, so no swag is inside.
We hope our trail of family-friendly Trillium caches endures. With heavy snow every winter, subsequent water flow from snow melt, trees falling in wind storms, lots of debris falling, and constant rot and regrowth, the foliage can change so much from year to year.
The road is closed in the winter. You can park outside the official park and hike the around the lake without paying day-use fee, or you can pay day-use fee and use the picnic area.
