In March 2013, when I visited this spot, there were hundreds of Monarch butterflies.
The Monarchs were feeding on the smaller trees - bottle brushes, and resting on the larger tree on the upper bank, a pohutukawa. That tree might even be a wintering tree for these butterflies..... About 40metres from the cache, though.
Do let us know what you spot when visiting here.
Cache is nestled below another tree, closer to the sea.
You should be able to view the butterflies, without distrubing them.
This cache is not intended to be hard to find; rather it takes you to a spot worth visiting. Enjoy the view, the location and the cache!
This cache was available for those who support geocaching as members initially, and became available to all after one year of publication.
