Geocache Description:

***To sign the logbook in the cache, between two logs, in the woods, on a hill, by the river, along the northern edge of Virginia. You must follow the directions to the first stage from the starting coordinates and then figure out the puzzle before you.***

As I sit on the couch in the waiting room nervously waiting to get my fortune read in a dank building on the corner downtown Arlington, I worry about whether our plan will come true. She told me where to meet her in her last letter but the magistrate and his men will be tough to sneak out on. Hopefully the leaves will tell the tale of our escape together and put my mind at ease. Finally I get to see the fortune teller to see what I needed to know, soon after though a cloaked man came into the room. He moved over to me without even appearing as if he walked, almost floating really, he then covered me with his remedy which caused me to loose my ability to see or feel and then all was gone.

I woke up on the couch where I started this visit feeling stiff so I head to the bar next door to get a few shots of Uncle Jimmy to loosen me up for the walk to the meeting point. The road to the spot was dark and eerie but thankfully I found the spot without any issues. I began to walk along the river to the garden gate which relaxing to hear the rolling river running over the rocks. When I got closer I could hear her cries drift through the air like the rolling fog a few feet above the ground. Not that the magistrate cares, he thinks they are just a lie, a cry for attention, the sound of her cries in my ears only makes me walk faster and faster to meet her to escape from this horrible place. After hours of waiting in the dark listening to the dogs bark endlessly into the darkness, I arrange my thoughts of our situation to the place they will never find.

After hours of silence I can only assume she fell prey to their empty handed gifts. The leaves had lied, with the coming dawn I guess she just had to stay, within the mission walls.

A special thanks to The Band for providing an excellent song to use for a cache!
