The Hassell post office was open from 1907 to 1948. It was named after its first postmaster, John Hassell, who had settled here on the Llano Estacado. All is gone now except the cemetery and nearby church. The cemetery is not very well maintained but has an excellent metal fence around it, and it still has functional Men's and Women's toliets placed a great distance apart.
Be discreet as a muggle lives directly across the county road. Do not enter the gate nor cross the fence as a green hanging bison is what you're looking for.
Please respect this area as it contains the homesteaders, pioneers and settlers of the Hassell community.
