Live from the beautiful Belleview Park in Englewood Colorado,
Geocaching Colorado and the Laff-A-Lympic Committee are proud to present:
Come and enjoy geocaching across grassy (or muddy) hills, streams, and fields
in a way you never dreamed possible!
Bring along your sense of humor and spirit of adventure
as we compete in a series of geocaching-style Olympic challenges!
Anyone can compete; No particular athletic abilities are needed!
Participate in as many or as few events as you'd like!
(subject to the capacity of each individual challenges)
The winner from each event will be awarded a highly-coveted (and trackable)
gold "geo-medal" to be displayed and discovered proudly!
LOCATION AND RUNNING TIME:
Competitors, spectators, friends, and family will gather from 10:00 AM - 2:00PM underneath the official (and gigantic) Olympic Shelter (#1) next to the kids playground.
There'll be plenty of things to eat, geocachers to chat with, and things nearby to see and do before, during, and after the Laff-A-Lympics, so plan on coming and staying a while!
We've posted a number of parking waypoints for the event and have verified that you can also park in the Pirate's Cove parking lot next door as well! Please refer to the waypoints section for more information!
GEOCACHING CHALLENGES:
Competitors may participate in as few or many challenges as they'd like (as long as we have open slots!) Please note: Priority placement in events will be given first to those who competed in previous challenges.
The following geocaching challenges have been announced for this year's Laff-A-Lympics:
- Ammo Can Golf - Using multiple "strokes", land your ammo as close to the target as possible!
- The Careful Container Toss - Test your reflexes, timing, and handling of a fragile (and wet) container! Dress appropriately!
- Mental Pie-Cathalon - A memorization challenge with a sticky twist!
- The 400 Meter Multi - Combine your geo-senses and speed to gather clues and complete fun challenges!
- Mystery Judo - Push your grey matter to the limit while racing to solve a devious brain-teaser!
Many of these events will require walking around in great Colorado outdoors. Please dress appropriately and be sure to bring your sunscreen, hats, water bottles, and other essentials to keep yourself hydrated and happy!
FOOD:
Under the pavilion there will be a pot-luck area where athletes can carbo-load between events! GCCO will be providing paper products, plates, and UTENSILS (by popular demand!) There are also *4* grills for your cooking pleasure. The hosts will have some charcoal and lighter fluid if you'd like to take advantage of this option! Please help by signing up for the potluck by your caching name:

KIDS EVENTS:
There will be a plethora of fun things to do for kids of all ages at the Laff-A-Lympics this year!
GCCO will be providing free carnival-style games for tickets and prizes! The games will include Ring Toss, Plinko, a Corn Hole board, and the Can Toss and they are a blast to play!
As if that weren't enough, Belleview Park is packed full of fun and exiting amenities within easy walking of Laff-A-Lympics Olympic Pavilion, including two playgrounds, a basketball court, an awesome kid-friendly stream, and (as charged separately by the Parks Department) a petting zoo, train ride, batting cages, and a water park!
