A small cache hidden near a busy trail intersection
This is cache Number 1 of 6 of the Tin Pants Series.
These caches are about 1/4-1/2 mile apart because the trail winds around. Good cache trail for a day hike, snowshoe or mountain biking. Bring water and a lunch.
Blackcomb Creek both feeds and drains Lost Lake, the general area of this cache. Blackcomb Creek is a tributary to Fitzsimmons Creek and is home to Bull Trout, a species in the Salmonoid family of fish. There is a “fish fence” near the cache to prevent migration from the creek to the larger Fitzsimmons creek.
You are looking for a sandwich-size Lock& Lock box that has been painted flat Olive Drab green. Literally hundreds of people walk and bike (in the summer) or cross-country ski and snowshoe (in the winter) within a few feet of this cache every day. There is the usual assortment of goodies in the box, but none too big because it is merely a sandwich box. There is no need to bushwhack any distance and there is no need to disturb the Bull Trout!
