Geocache Description:

The Pump house ruin cache is located between a scenic pond and the Passaic River in the Glenhurst meadows wildlife nature preserve. The area offers Birder's plenty of bird watching locations with nice hiking trails with benches to sit and observe. The New Jersey Audubon society uses this area for recording bird sightings. The area offers groups various nature study, and great locations for nature photography.

The nature preserve offers 100 acres with 4 miles of trails. Formerly historic farmlands with upland meadows, pastures, ponds, and riverside wetlands. It was a failed golf course that was acquired in the 1980's and preserved as a nature preserve.

While hiking at Glenhurst Meadows it is recommended to wear boots, this area is a flood plain and the trails can become muddy. The area also borders the Passaic river and is prone to flooding during heavy period of rain. This area also has lots of NJ's poison ivy vines on many vines and trees.

NNJC is about promoting a quality caching experience in Northern New Jersey.
