Hochmoor „Kleiner
Kranichsee“
Neben dem „Großen Kranichsee“ ist der
„Kleine Kranichsee“ das bekannteste Hochmoor des
Erzgebirges. Das Hochmoor befindet sich südwestlich von
Johanngeorgenstadt auf einer Meereshöhe zwischen 920 und 945
Metern. Durch das Hochmoor führt die Grenze zwischen Deutschland
und der Tschechischen Republik. Wie die anderen Hochmoore des
Erzgebirges entstand auch dieses hier nach der letzten Eiszeit vor
etwa 10.000 Jahren. Eine wasserundurchlässige Senke aus Granit und
Andalusitglimmer ermöglichte die Entstehung des Moores. In das Moor
hinein führt ein begehbarer Knüppelpfad, der an einer hölzernen
Aussichtsplattform endet.
Achtung: Der Cache befindet sich im Naturschutzgebiet,
das Verlassen der offiziellen Wege ist nicht
erforderlich!
Bei N 50° 25.025 und E 012° 40.769 findet Ihr eine
Informationstafel zum Moor, die Euch bei der Beantwortung einiger,
aber nicht aller der folgenden Fragen behilflich sein
kann.

3. Wer möchte, macht ein Foto von Euch mit dem GPS
oder nur vom GPS auf der Aussichtsplattform.

High
moor „Kleiner Kranichsee“
Beside the
„Großer Kranichsee“ the „Kleiner
Kranichsee“ is the best known high moor of the Ore Mountains.
The moor lies in the southwest of Johanngeorgenstadt on a sea level
between 920 and 945 metres. It`s also at the border between Germany
and Czech Republic. Like the other high moors of the Ore Mountains
this moor was formed by the ice during the last ice age about
10.000 years ago. A water-impervious depression from Granit and
Andalusitglimmer allowed the origin of the moor. Into the moor you
can walk on a wooden path which ends at a wooden view
platform.
Attention: The Cache is in the nature reserve, it is not
necessary to leave the official paths!

about the moor, which can help you to find the answers of some, but
not of all of the following questions.
