This park used to be the Methodist burial ground. It is now a park that is near, but not part of, Rock Creek Park and bikepath.
Due to Isabel, the cache hiding spot has been changed! It was in a tall vertical tree (most of the trees near this spot were not vertical after Isabel.) The cache is now about 15 feet away.Years ago, you could walk thru this area and find gravesites everywhere. But then overgrowth started to cover and dislodge the markers and many tumbled down the hill.After years of neglect, tomb stones were gathered up and now sit in a pile at the top of the hill. The park is used mostly by dog walkers and hikers cutting through to Rock Creek.Burials ceased in 1950. In the 1970's the cemetery was saved from being replaced by a townhouse development and placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
