Geocache Description:

GeoCrush is a series of art caches at Puget Sound cultural institutions. These aren't ordinary cache containers. They're displays where you can interact with the caches in an artistic way.

This art cache is available from October 7 through October 30. It begins at the offices of 4Culture, at 101 Prefontaine Place South in Seattle. Cache hours are Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. This cache will lead you to other buildings and structures in Downtown Seattle, which may have slightly different hours. The terrain difficulty rating is because of some hills and walking.

About this Cache
This cache begins at the 4Culture office, where you will find a very special box. You will know what box it is, because it will have a combination lock on it. The cache is inside the box, and you will need the combination to get at it. To find the combination, you will visit five King County-run locations in Downtown – some not obviously connected to art – which nonetheless feature large art installations placed by 4Culture. Following this tour, you will discover five letters, and those letters will spell a word with which you can open the box and sign the log. Please remember to re-lock the box when you're done!

If you're lucky, you could win tickets to the SecondStory Repertory Theatre's production of "Turn of the Screw," an Emerald City Scene performance, a performance in the Arts in Culture series from the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council, or a show featuring the Cascade Symphony Orchestra. Just fill out an entry slip and drop it into the cache!

Waypoint #1: Weller Street Pedestrian Bridge, Fourth Avenue South and King Street
On this bridge is a series of metal cutouts. One of them contains the name of a fish below a waterline. In the word immediately above the waterline, what is the last letter?

Waypoint #2: King Street Center, 201 South Jackson Street
On the facade of this building is a set of steel entry brackets and cornices. If you delete one letter, the title of this series of metalworks can be scrambled to ART'S FINER STAGE. What letter did you delete?

Waypoint #3: Chinook Office Building, 401 Fifth Avenue
In the lobby, there are two large art pieces which are based on the same design. One is on the wall and one is on the ceiling. These two pieces' titles share a consonant in the same position, in the way they also share an O in the second position of their titles. What is this consonant?

Waypoint #4: King County Parking Structure, 415 Sixth Avenue
Standing in this spot, you can see some number of very large people falling from the sky. If A is 1, and B is 2, what is the letter associated with the number of falling people?

Waypoint #5: King County Courthouse, 516 Third Avenue
On the floor of the main first floor hallway is a famous quote from someone whose name is associated with this building. That person is also shown forcefully making a point on the massive wall murals. On that section of mural, someone holds a sign which has the word "FISHING" on it. What is the last letter of the last word on this sign? (Note: To get into this last location, you will need to go through a security checkpoint. So please leave your multitools at home.)

About 4Culture:
4Culture is the cultural services agency for King County, providing programs, financial support and services in the arts, public art, heritage and historic preservation for all residents and visitors. 4Culture is a new model for public support of cultural programs. It combines the resources of the public sector with the flexibility of a non-profit. Through the integration of four program areas, 4Culture stimulates cultural activity and enhances the assets that distinguish our communities as vibrant, unique, and authentic.

About GeoCrush:
GeoCrush is an event that takes place all over ArtsCrush 2010. There are 20 art caches at cultural institutions around the Sound. When you find a cache, sign the logbook and fill out an entry form. When the cache is archived at the end of its run, we will draw winners at random from all the entries. You can win event tickets, art memorabilia, and other prizes from our host institutions. Check the cache listings to see the complete list of prizes. This event was created by Groundspeak, Theatre Puget Sound, and Lone Shark Games.
