Geocache Description:

A Scout is Helpful
This cache is a regular sized cache (about the size of a lunch box) and is set as part of the "Trail to Eagle" cache series honoring community service projects that have been performed by Eagle Scout Candidates. This series is designed to help teach Scouts ( and Newbies) about geocaching.

Although this is a regular cache it has an unusual twist. The location may be something that you may not expect.

We are all expected to help around the home, whether it is helping mom with the groceries, keeping your room clean, or helping keep the property looking nice. And we adults need to remind ourselves sometimes to do the same. But the word "helpful" never means so much as when you go out of your way to help someone in need. It's that extra effort that make you a "helpful" person. The recent incident in NY where folks just walked by a man lying in the sidewalk bleeding to death should remind us of just how unhelpful and uncaring people can be. If you ever come across someone that needs your help, do what you would want someone to do for you. Be helpful. You will feel so much better afterwards.

These trail steps that double as erosion control, were set here by Scouts from Troop 8, Brookfield under the direction of Eagle Scout Candidate Ethan Fearn. Ethan is now a science and math teacher in Easton, CT
