Jedne olujne noći snažni valovi potopili su brod. Preživio je samo jedan putnik kojeg je more izbacilo na obalu. Kad je otvorio oči vidio je ispred sebe kip Gospe. U znak zahvalnosti što je jedini ostao živ, odlučio je zauvijek ostati u ovoj lijepoj uvali. Tu je sagradio kuću, hranio se ribama i šumskim plodovima te slao poruke u boci u nadi da će ih netko pročitati. Taj čovjek nije više među živima, ali jedna boca s porukom je ipak pronađena. U toj poruci piše:

One stormy night strong waves sank the ship. Only one passenger survived and the sea has thrown him to the shore. When he opened his eyes he saw the statue of Madonna. In appreciation, because he is the only one left alive, he decided to stay forever in this beautiful bay. There he built the house, ate fish and berries and sent messages in bottles in the hope that they will be read. That man is no longer alive, but one bottle with a message was found. The message says:
