Geocache Description:

At the top end of Goldwell Park, in Newbury, this cache used to be at Newbury lock.

The cache is in the small wooded area, at the top end of Goldwell park.

If you can't park on the adjacent road (Old Bath Road), then follow the signs to "Northcroft Leisure Centre", which is at the bottom end of the park.

There's a great children's playground including an 'Aerial Runway' down the bottom of the park, and it's a great place to let the kids run around, whilst you sit on one of the seats!

The cache is the old one from 'The Lock' (sadly now archived), and is a small (3 to 4 ins diam) circular 'tuppaware' container.

This cache is only 10 minutes walk from the town centre (I did the walk after placing the cache!) so easy to visit when shopping.

Or maybe you'd like to go down to the Lock (N 51° 24.078 W 001° 19.543), and then walk along the towpath to the Along the Canal (GCDAFC) cache!

When you've found the cache, stand on the grass for a moment, and take in the view across Newbury.....
