Geocache Description:

The MCPS WEST series invites geocachers to explore the beauty of Monmouth County’s western parks. Sponsored by the Monmouth County Park System (MCPS) these caches are designed to be family-friendly and to encourage people to explore some gems of Monmouth County. There are six caches total in the series (see below). The first five caches contain a hidden question and can be found in any order. Answer the five questions to receive the coordinates for the sixth and final cache. This cache has stored in it the MCPS WEST buttons to collect.

Nomoco 101
Nomoco is an activity area just off of Turkey Swamp offering facilities for camping and trails for hiking. Moderate trails such as Blueberry and Metedeconk border campsites and offer the chance to see the local Pine Barren environment.

Cache Summary
Go inside the park to the first group of campsites. Look for the “Deerfield” sign. You can use 143 Nomoco Rd, Freehold, NJ on your GPS to get close to the park. Once you are on Nomoco Rd, look for signs for the Nomoco Activity Area signs.

Trail: Look for the Sweetgum sign and take the trail called Blueberry Path. The cache is less than .5 miles along the trail.
Visit the MCPR website or the Information Center at Turkey Swamp (off Georgia Road) for a trail map.
