Bennett Park has a new cache. However if you are the type of Geocacher who prefers to add to your numbers with LPM's, urban micros, and park and grab caches, you will not want to do this cache. On the flip-side if you are the type of Geocacher who prefers to add to your numbers with the travel to the country, hunt and grunt, in the woods, bushwack the trail and find an ammo box, then read below.
Bennett Park is a quiet little park located between New Liberty and Bennett on IA 130 a couple of miles inside Cedar County. It is a nice place to spend the weekend camping, picnicing, fishing, or hiking. There is also a butterfly garden that lives up to its name during the summer months.
Now it is the home of a new Geocache. The cache is a traditional straight to the coordinates cache. The container is an ammo box located deep into the woods. There is no real trail so you'll have to choose your own way to the cache. The starting trinkets include kid toys and a small shoulder pack.
While you are in this park you may want to take on our other cache, "The Galaxy", a challenging multi-cache on a mile long trail designed to get the Geocaching family out of the house for an afternoon together taking in the sights and sounds of nature.
