We parked in the Rockefeller State Park Preserve parking lot. This
currently costs $6 until about 5pm when it becomes free. (Please
note that the parking lot closes 15 minutes after sundown, at which
time your car becomes a prisoner and you will need to call the
police to let it out. We know this from personal experience.) Then
we walked the beautiful trails in and around the Preserve until we
found the perfect place to hide our cache (just outside of the
preserve). There is a trail entrance on 448 at N41º05.687
W073º50.162 near the cache where you used to be able to park during
the week and avoid the parking fee. However the last time we were
there there was no parking during the week either, so we found
parking a little bit down from the above parking coordinates on the
side of the road. For a nice day out though come early-park in the
Preserve and enjoy walking this preserve. Most days you will
probably see families of deer, friendly cows, loads of chipmunks
and dogs walking people. Cache is a Lock N Lock container painted
green with a geocaching label on it. It contains a logbook and
varied trinkets. Please re-hide it well so that others can enjoy
the hunt too.
