Leonardo da Vinci was born in 1452 in Vinci, Italy. This is where he got his name being that "da Vinci" means "from Vinci" in Italian. His parents weren't married, and he grew up with his dad. He was a vegetarian who enjoyed writing backwards. His greatest works include The Last Supper and Mona Lisa. Leonardo da Vinci died in May of 1519.
