The holiday "National Ice Cream Day" was created by an official proclamation by President Ronald Reagan in 1984. At the time, the holiday was supposed to be celebrated once – on the 3rd Sunday of July (July 15, 1984), however the ice cream industry decided to continue the tradition every year since...and I am glad!
