Having enjoyed over the past months searching for many caches that others have taken the time and effort to conceal, we thought it about time that we set others a challenge! However where to squirrel away our first cache and which rating to make it took more time than we imagined, finally we decided to make our first hide an easy one. Preferring to make our next a “little” more challenging!!. Being proud Glaswegians we figured that it had to be somewhere in this, Scotland’s premier city, and where better than in one of its many parks. Glasgow, boasting over 70 parks is the most “park populated” city in the UK, and to its inhabitants is fondly known as “The Dear Green place”. However, sadly many of the parks have fell into decline and most Glaswegians welcome the recent announcement to pour £50 million over the next decade into sprucing up and attracting people back to the cities parks. To secrete our first Cache we chose a park which is in the Glasgow area but ironically not any longer under the control of Glasgow district council,(thanks to some political gerrymandering some years ago) nevertheless we believe, it is the most picturesque, featuring a boating pond, swings, gardens, a garden centre, a Chinese restaurant and some beautiful glen walks past spectacular waterfalls. It is in our view unequalled and well worthy of a visit. There is more than one entrance to the park itself; these co-ordinates will guide you to one possible starting point. N55*47.946 W004*19.133 Despite it being a reasonable easy cache to find, don’t blame us if it takes you longer than anticipated, as you stroll about soaking up the wonderful surroundings, take a wander round the visitor centre etc Watch out for Muggles this is a far from underused park.
