Due to the nature of the signage for the official odometer checkpoints The Reel Mt Crawford Oddity Geocache is a traditional where the other 3 are multi caches.
The small cache container is hidden at the listed coordinates and is near the end of the official odometer check but it is not necessary to complete the odometer check.
If you wish to check the odometer of your vehicle
The check is located on Cricks Mill Road (B35). Between Warren Road (B34) Mt Crawford and Melrose Street (B10) Mt Pleasant
The 6.50 km odometer check begins by traveling south east from the start red/green post (Note when the cache was hidden the post was a yellow star picket at S 34° 44.015 E 138° 57.799. This post is located approximately 100 metres from the Warren Road intersection in the layover adjacent Mount Road.
The end red/green post is located at S 34° 45.967 E 139° 01.124 approximately 750 metres from the Elliot’s Boundary Road intersection.
The distance is taken with the front wheels of the vehicle level with the nominated points.
The cache is hidden approximately a further 55 metres from the end post at the listed coordinates
S 34° 45.988 E 139° 01.151
If traveling from Mt Pleasant to Mt Crawford please check the distance from the finish to start posts.
If the marker posts are improved the description will be edited.
When the cache was hidden the straight line distance was 6.23 km between the start and finish posts.
Geocache logs can contain the odometer distance checked.
