I was on my way home from checking this cache location out and this song (London Calling by The Clash) came on the radio. I love The Clash and haven’t heard this song in a long time. This is a tribute to music in general.
The song, "London Calling", is on the album of the same name which is the third studio album by English punk rock band The Clash. The song’s lyrics were actually influenced by the March 1979 meltdown of a nuclear reactor at Three Mile Island in Pennsylvania. The album's subject matter included social displacement, unemployment, racial conflict, drug use, and the responsibilities of adulthood. The album received unanimous acclaim and was ranked at number eight on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time in 2003. London Calling was a top ten album in the UK, and its lead single "London Calling" was a top 20 single. You may recall other hits by The Clash: "Rock the Casbah", "Should I Stay or Should I Go", or "I fought The Law". Music can make you smile, make you well-up, make you crank the radio, or make you turn it off.
