Coinciding with the 10 year anniversary of geocaching. The GCGC will be participating by hosting a special event, along with others around the world on the same weekend. So join your friends in the Greater Charlotte Geocaching Club as we celebrate 10 years of the greatest sport/hobby/addiction in the world, Geocaching!!! We'll meet for breakfast on Saturday, May 1st from 8:00am - 10:00am at the Golden Corral restaurant on South Boulevard, the site of our first meeting almost two years ago. We now like to say that it is the perfect restaurant for our club, The GCGC at the GC.

As usual you can trade travel bugs and geocoins, and there will probably be a door prize or two as well. Be sure to get your name in the hat for the traditional drawing of the coveted GCGC event FTF certificate. As a requirement to earn the SPECIAL ICON FOR THIS EVENT, we must take a group photo and submit it to Groundspeak, so plan to wear some of your most festive birthday duds for the group photo. We would like to show the rest of the geocaching community how committed we are to our great sport and how much fun we have as a club. Remember though, this is still a family friendly sport and we would like for the photo to reflect that.

Thanks to our fantastic website at www.charlottegeocaching.com, our local geocaching community is thriving, and our membership is growing rapidly. If you have attended some of our events in the past, we would love to see you again, and if you're new to the Charlotte Geocaching scene, this event would be a great opportunity to put faces with user names. For old and new alike though, make plans NOW to attend so you can find out about everything else we have planned for the near future.

There is always great fun when our group comes together so make plans to come and see old friends and make new ones. Geocaching in the Greater Charlotte area has brought a lot of great people together, so be sure to mark your calendar and plan to join the fun as the GCGC celebrates 10 years of geocaching! Please post a "will attend" log soon and let us know how many folks in your group will attend. We're looking forward to seeing you there.
