Talking to locals about the history of the Glencairn road, one of the most mentioned icons was the Ink bottle cottage, which stood on this site until around 50 years ago. It used to act as a home, and a small shop selling refreshments to those needing a little respite on the long walk up the Glencairn road. Although the ruins of the old cottage can still be seen from Google maps, the area is now overgrown, but beautiful views can still be seen from the area.

The Cache
This is an inkbottle sized cache, inside a large camo, and contains a log sheet and pencil.
PLEASE take care removing and replacing camo- pull the bottom right gently, it will click out. Then lift the whole camo upwards to remove. Replace the same way and ensure the bottom right "clicks in". If you've replaced it correctly, the camo shouldn't move when pushed gently from either side. Thankyou. Enjoy!
All caches off the Glencairn road can be accessed by car, or if preferred, an enjoyable and energetic hike from the carpark in Glencairn park.
