Cache is located along a paved trail with minor elevation changes.
Near this site is a tree believed to be the largest living cedar tree east of the Sierra/Cascade ranges in the United States. It is believed to be over 3,000 years old. For something of this stature, it is surprizingly not well publicized. It is in a remote area, but the gravel roads are well maintained. Easily accessible by car, BUT WATCH OUT FOR FOUR WHEELERS. I will give these two hints in the description: 1) If you are coming in from highway 8, go thru town to the stop sign and turn left. that should be obvious. When you leave town, stay left. 2) 6 to 10 miles down that road you should see a hint that will guide you to the area, with an additional hint along the way. The area being an improved trail. The best readings I could get were only within 40 Ft. I took the average of two GPS devices.
A Caveat: Will probably need a snowmobile, Skis or a Dogsled in winter as the cache will be covered by several feet of snow.
Cache is a ammo can painted black.
7/23/05 - Upping the rating just a tad. Last few yards are probably not wheelchair accessable.
