Hear tell from the locals there’s a story that goes back about a fella that went missing out here while testing out some new-fangled satellite receiver gadget. But, don’t let that stop you…
To get credit for this 4-stage cache, the search must be done at night. Bring a strong flashlight and a friend or two. Begin your trek on the trail to the right of the parking area (at metal gate). This is an approximately 0.75 mile loop, most of which is on a relatively flat trail, and is marked with white rectangular blaze (i.e., reflective paint) on trees. However, the first 0.30 mile of trail beyond stage 1 is not marked with white blaze. At some point in this trek, you’ll have to do some light bush-wacking; with a keen eye you’ll see where to do this.
When in doubt, at trail junctions (marked with double blaze), follow trails marked with white blaze toward the right. You'll see posted/no tresspassing signs near the entrance; they are for property adjacent to the one you'll be on. As always, save your parking coordinates in your GPSR (should fear overcome you, and you need to get out fast)!! Should you lose reception, all stages of this cache are within 10 feet of the marked loop trail. Trail will lead you to the next stages of the cache and will eventually lead you to the parking area.
There is another cache in here (probably can’t be found easily at night). But, keep this in mind if you use the nearest function on your GPSR and have those coordinates stored.
