Easy park, easy hike on trail for most of the way. New Cache is located off the trail a bit so it may be weedy in the summer.
This is our first cache, which is especially done for my two little Greenwings a/k/a kids involved in Ducks Unlimited and conservation. www.greenwing.org
UPPER HALFWAY CREEK MARSH RESTORATION PROJECT:
Enjoy your visit to the innovative watershed restoration project that was developed and implemented with the involvement of a large team of partner organizations, which are listed on the sign in the parking area. Halfway creek, a tribute to the Upper Mississippi River north of La Crosse, Wisconsin, drains a small watershed where agricultural land use and expanding residential and commercial development have led to flooding and sedimentation problems in lower parts of the watershed. This water shed initiative involves restoration, enhancement, creation and management of more than 150 acres of wetland and grassland to address these problems and ultimately creating habitat for wildlife.
