Geocache Description:

This series of Caches is dedicated to some of the more popular car brands that have streets named after them.

This is my 6th Geocache hide, 3rd in the series inspired by my new car (and first official Geocaching vehicle). After my last car was written off after a minor car accident, I updated to a Subaru Forester, my first 4x4. I have never owned a 4 wheel drive, but as my 3 kids are getting bigger and my love of Geocaching sends me occasionally off road, I decided it was time.

To celebrate this milestone, I decided to hide some Geocaches with a Sports car theme. As there are some street names near my home with car names, I thought I would hide a Geocache as close as possible to them, while highlighting a park or significant area as well.

History:

The Jaguar Car Company is the luxury vehicle brand of Jaguar Land Rover, a British car manufacturer headquartered in Whitley, Coventry, England, owned by the Indian company Tata Motors since 2008.

Jaguar was founded as the Swallow Sidecar Company in 1922, originally making motorcycle sidecars before developing bodies for passenger cars. It was changed to “Jaguar” in 1945. They merged with the British Motor Corporation in 1966. That company then merged with Leyland Motor Corporation and became British Leyland , itself to be nationalised in 1975. Jaguar split in 1984, and was acquired by Ford in 1990.

Jaguar, in recent years, manufactured cars for the British Prime Minister, the most recent being an XJ in 2010. The company also holds warrants from Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles.

The Cache: An Eclipse container placed on a small bridge at the end of the street bearing the same name as the Cache. It has been placed so you shouldn’t have to walk off the track to get it. Be aware there is a house with a balcony with full view of this bridge, so be careful when looking for this cache.

Parking is available in the court but it is narrow. Best option is to park in Cottage Blvd and grab number 2 in the series at the same time.

BYO pen.

***Congrats to omegaman1971 for getting the FTF***
