Geocache Description:

A Scout Is Friendly
This is a 35 mm film container hidden in a small park in Brookfield. This cache is part of a series honoring Eagle Scout Service Projects and the Scout Law. It is designd to teach Scouts (and newbies) about geocaching and to pass the requirements of the new Geocaching Merit Badge.

This small container is also known as a "park and grab" as it is an easy find very close to parking. Other "micro" cache containers can be magnetic film containers or prescription pill bottles. These containers are usually hidden where a large box cannot be hidden, like in urban settings, or where people should not tread.

A Scout is Friendly. Although in these times we sometimes must use caution when greeting new people, a friendly approach is usually the best way to start out. It opens the door for a similar reaction from others and can often defuse a tense situation.

This Eagle Scout project was performed by Matt Grimes of Troop 8 in Brookfield. The overhanging brush and the pond itself was cleaned up in preparation for making this park what it is today. Matt is currently a Bond Claims Adjuster in Hartfod, CT.
