Geocache Description:

A short easy circular walk for any time of the year. Quiet and great changing vistas.

Blelham Tarn can be readily visited from almost any direction although parking is perhaps easiest at Wray Castle, and the roads quietest. A short circular walk around the tarn provides views across to Coniston, the Langdales, Helvelyn and Kirkstone.

The tarn is approximately 25 acres in area and up to 47 feet deep. Roach, perch, pike, eels, and brown trout inhabit its waters.

A marked path from the track near Hole House descends to the tarn and the cache or it can easily be picked up on your return from Outgate if a slightly longer route is desired.

(Outgate also has a good pub with bar meals - to break the journey)

Remember - Remember : well the cache was a 'toy' received on my recent birthday which i would like to share and also the cache was placed on Remembrance Sunday - Lest we forget.

The cache site is a nice location overlooking the end of the lake, tuely a place for comtemplation.
