This cache has been archived.

hmarq: Time to retire some old ones and make room for new. While fun, this was a maintenance nightmare.

Thanks to all who hunted!

Geocache Description:

DON'T GO TO THE POSTED COORDS

For me, the original Ghostbusters is a classic, one of my favorite lines is when Gozer the Gozerian says "Choose the form of your destructor" ... and we get the Stay Puff Marshmellow man; but I digress ...

You too have a choice to make, but yours involves finding an ammo can in the woods. Once you have the coords, you'll still have some walking to do. The final is placed in an underutilized strip of Forest Preserve with no convenient parking. All your usual friends are here, nettles, ivy, bugs, thick canopy, you'll have fun :)

There are 3 forms your destructor can take ...

Mystic Blue Rectangle

You may study the Mystic Blue Rectangle until you are at one with the coords. Granted, this level of introspection isn't for everybody, but for those who are open to the experience, it is the quickest path to enlightenment.

Since that doesn't work for many, here are a couple options ...

Locate my solitaire deck at N41 49.528 W87 49.076 and decypt the coords below.

ZITCW XNPAX

They represent the decimal minutes off of N41/W87. The decimal has been removed and they have been converted with a simple alphabetic replacement A=1,B=2 ... J=0, prior to encryption; example 52.602 becomes 52602, becomes EBFJB before being encrypted. I'd bring both a deck of cards, and your digital camera (you can of course copy with pen/pencil and paper too, it just takes longer and is more error prone).

Key the deck on site and snap a photo of the deck sequence just in case you mess up. The deck is configured and held face up, so the first card in the sequence is on top and you are reading it ... the last card is on the bottom of the deck and would commonly be referred to as the 'top card' if you were actually dealing.

NOTE: you must be tall, or have a plan/tool to compensate to retreive and replace this micro ... plan accordingly.

Finally you can try ...

At Dusk or Dawn, travel to 16T 0424935 4631891. Bring a strong torch with you and follow the beacons -- search for a micro where you find a diamond of beacons. If you understand how you got here, then the information contained in the cache will yield your answer. This area if NOT pet friendly and you must stay on the trails / sidewalks -- the beacons and final can all be achieved in this manner; there is an 'official' footpath just north of the isolated tree you see as your starting point.

Feel free to log the micros here as separate stages, so you can get 3, count'em 3 finds for the price of one cache! Such a deal! When logging the final, please note which method you used to determine the final.
