Geocache Description:

The final cache in the GWRKK Series. It is located on an island in the Wisconsin River. The coordinates listed take you to a parking area and boat ramp. The cache location is at N44 59.AB4 W 89 37.3CD. Clues for AB and CD can be found by completing the other GWRKK series caches. You are looking for an ammo can, one that hopefully will keep the contents dry and not wash away like the old one.

This cache is the final cache of the Great Wisconsin River Kaya-Knoo series. This series combines four of my favorite pastime activities: 1) woodworking, I handcrafted the four cache containers as well as the signature trade items used in the final cache. 2) local history, I'm always fascinated by the histories that make communities what they are. Around the areas that each of the three multi-caches begins, can be found stories about the early years of Wausau history. 3) knooing, this by the way is the correct Germanic spelling of a "paddled watercraft, or convertible kayak. The multis all begin in the area of Wausau's Whitewater Park, one of the most popular urban whitewater kayak and knooing courses in the world, and the area where the first white settlement began over 160 years ago. 4) geocaching, I would not have been able to come up with linking the other three activities had it not been for this. I hope you enjoy this series (There will be more to follow so keep your paddle handy). To complete this series will require about 3 hours minimum on the water, that is if you chose to do them all at once. Or you could take your time and do them on separate occasions. Expect to encounter ticks, skeeters, wet feet, and various other types of creepy critters along the way. Also, check out the little ponds on this island that I discovered and thus gave it this name.
