Please read this carefully
Please note the difficulty, terraine, time and attributes for this event... I'm not trying to discourage you, but if you're looking for a quick and easy smilie, this event might not be what you're looking for.
The trails we will be hiking and cleaning are considered a moderate hike at 3.4 miles to complete the loop of the White Candle trail and the Beaver Pond trail and end up back at the event coordinates.
More information will be provided at the event, but please plan accordingly and have what you think you might need during the hike. (i.e. carrying water, energy bars, proper hiking shoes (flip flops aren't going to be very comfortable)).
I will provide a cooler of water, but I can't carry it to you or for you.
Although the souvenir is nice, the goal here is to help with trail cleanup on the East end of the Pine Mountain Trail by picking up the litter left by others in this area.
The plan is to meet at the listed coordinates for a few brief announcement, pass out some instructions and garbage bags, team up with others and split into two groups, then show how well a group of organized geocachers can help clean up of the trails.
As geocachers, we try to teach "leave no trace" ethics, but not everyone follows this simple rule, so maybe we can make a difference by showing others we care about our environment.
There is a $5 parking fee if you don't have a park pass to enter any Georgia State Park.
After the clean up is done, we will meet back at the listed coordinates for a group photo, some small door prizes and some geo-chat before we leave the area better than we found it!
It should go without saying, but please prepare and know that all garbage must be brought back to the original coordinates and not left on the side of the trails.
Please always remember to follow the:
