O Pico das Cruzinhas situa-se em Angra do Heroísmo e integra a Reserva Florestal e de Recreio do Monte Brasil, sendo o mais baixo dos seus quatro picos (168m). Está situado numa área de grande importância paisagística e histórica para a ilha Terceira.
Do seu miradouro usufrui-se de uma vista panorâmica sobre toda a costa sul da ilha, compreendendo os Ilhéus das Cabras, a freguesia do Porto Judeu, a serra da Ribeirinha, o Centro Histórico de Angra do Heroísmo, a serra do Morião, a freguesia de São Mateus da Calheta e a serra de Santa Bárbara.
A vista privilegiada abrange ainda o Porto das Pipas, a Marina de Angra do Heroísmo e o Porto de São Mateus da Calheta. Em dias claros, avista-se ainda no horizonte, a Ilha de São Jorge e a Ilha do Pico.

Pico das Cruzinhas is located in Angra do Heroísmo and is part of the Monte Brasil Forest and Recreation Reserve, being the lowest of its four peaks (168m). It is located in an area of great scenic and historical importance for Terceira Island.
From it's viewpoint, there is a panoramic view over the entire south coast of the island, including the Ilhéus das Cabras, the village of Porto Judeu, the Ribeirinha hill, the Historic Center of Angra do Heroísmo, the Morião hill , the parish of São Mateus da Calheta and the Santa Bárbara hill.
The privileged view also includes Porto das Pipas, the Angra do Heroísmo marina and the fishing port of São Mateus da Calheta. On clear days, you can still see São Jorge Island and Pico Island on the horizon.

O Pico das Cruzinhas, como hoje é conhecido, foi também chamado de Pico das Cruzes. Na Carta de Linschoten vê-se por entre os Picos do Facho e do Zimbreiro, a parte superior e arredondada do Pico das Cruzinhas, em que estão três cruzes plantadas em bases distintas e que ainda, em 1642, ali existiam, devendo ser estes os símbolos da fé que deram o nome ao pico.
Entre as atrações do local podemos encontrar peças de artilharia antiaérea da época da Segunda Guerra Mundial, o monumento ao V Centenário do Descobrimento dos Açores (1432-1932), viveiros de aves e de animais, área de piqueniques com churrasqueiras ao ar livre, anfiteatro, um antigo paiol e guaritas do século XVII e mais recentemente uma estátua do Rei D. Afonso VI, comemorativa dos 350 anos da sua chegada a Angra do Heroísmo (1669-2019), onde esteve cinco anos exilado.

Pico das Cruzinhas, as it is known today, was also called Pico das Cruzes. In the Linschoten Chart you can see between the peaks of Facho and Zimbreiro, the rounded upper part of Pico das Cruzinhas, in which there are three crosses planted on different bases and which still existed there in 1642, and these must be the symbols of the faith that gave the peak its name.
Among the attractions at the site, we can find anti-aircraft artillery pieces from the Second World War, the monument celebrating the V Centenary of the Discovery of the Azores (1432-1932), bird and animal nurseries, picnic area with outdoor barbecue grills, amphitheater , an old munitions stockpile and a guardhouse from the 17th century and more recently a statue of D. Afonso VI King of Portugal, commemorating the 350th anniversary of his arrival in Angra do Heroísmo (1669-2019), where he spent five years in exile.

Para registar esta cache virtual, deverá tirar duas fotografias, em que, na Etapa Virtual 1 apareça obrigatoriamente a Placa Comemorativa dos 500 anos do descobrimento dos Açores, e na Etapa Virtual 2 a Estátua do Rei D. Afonso VI.
Fica ao seu critério, aparecer ou não nas fotografias. No entanto, deverá comprovar que as fotos foram tiradas aquando da publicação da cache, pelo que nas mesmas deverão aparecer algum elemento que o identifique como geocacher, como por exemplo o seu GPS, algum trackable ou até mesmo um papel com o seu nickname ou com o GC da cache escrito.

To register this virtual cache, you must take two photographs, on which, have to appear in Virtual Stage 1, the commemorative plaque related to the 500 years since the discovery of the Azores, and in Virtual Stage 2 the statue of D. Afonso VI King of Portugal.
It's up to you whether or not to appear in the photographs. However, you must prove that the photos were taken when the cache was published, so there should appear some element that identifies you as a geocacher, such as your GPS, some trackable or even a paper with your nickname or the GC from the cache written on it.
