The Cache to Eagle series highlights service projects conducted by Eagle Scout candidates in the Northern Star Council as a part of the Boy Scouts of America's Centennial Celebration.
At this location, you are looking at a large bat house built as an Eagle Project by an Eagle Scout from Troop 188 in Great Rivers District. It consisted of 6 volunteers spending 178 hours on the project. The total cost of this project was $640
These bat houses were installed to help improve the bat population in the park. The Eagle Scout communicated with the park to construct the bat houses as they wanted them. He built them at his house and then transported them to the park where they were installed in their two locations. Over time these bat houses should help the bat population in the area to increase.
A vehicle entry permit is required unless you arrive on foot or bike.
You will find the coordinates for the final at this bat house location.
The park has requested that geocachers only use roadways or trails to travel to the final location. This location is available in the winter, but the gate may be closed. See parking waypoint for more information.
