Located on a 6,300 acre man made lake, Lake Wissota State Park features over 1,000 acres of young forests, open meadows, and marshes. The park has an extensive system of hiking and bike trails that cover over a dozen miles. There will lots of caches in the park to find, or if you choose, you can just hang out at the Beach Shelter and socialize.
The Beach Shelter is reserved for the day. This is a large open shelter, with electric service and will be the location for the log book, the food and the group photo. (See the park's rules about pets. Pets are allowed on the trails, but not in the shelter.) The event will be held rain or shine.
Camping is available in the park for those who wish to stay for the weekend. The family campground has about 90 campsites suitable for tents and wheeled camper units; some campsites have electricity.
Kid's Cache: There will be an easy, kid friendly cache hidden near the shelter with items for children under 12.
Group Photo: We will take a group photo promptly at 2 PM near the shelter.
TB Exchange: Bring your TBs from far and wide and trade them in for other TBs to take back to your home area.
What To Bring:
- Your own meat to grill
- Table setting for you and your family (or guests)
- Lawn chairs if you like
- Beverages for your group
- A food item to pass.
- Your GPS receiver.
Note: A Wisconsin State Park sticker is required for cars entering Lake Wissota State Park.
