Welcome to Dam 18 (Herbine's) and Lock 38 (a gaurd lock)of the Schuykill navigation company. The SNC used a series of slackwater pools, dams and canals to cover a distance of slightly over 108 miles.
Each canal section had a name. This is what is left of the beginning of Duncan's canal.It ended at locks 39 and 40 (peacock's Locks)which is now on private property near the peacock railroad bridge.
