Geocache Description:

Join SOGeo as we work with the Medford Parks and Rec department and Medford Police to clean up a particularly dirty section of the Bear Creek Greenway!

As CITO week comes to a close, we at SOGeo wanted to get everyone together for one last opportunity to earn your CITO souvenir!  The Bear Creek Greenway is an amazing path for bikers, runners, hikers, and geocachers to explore and have access from Central Point to Ashland.  There are certain stretches of the Greenway that attract individuals who leave trash and garbage strewn about and we wanted to do our best to make a difference.

We will be meeting in the parking lot in front of Railroad Park at 9am to organize and go over some guidelines before we begin this CITO.  The plan is to walk from the parking area to the Greenway and then split into two groups; one taking a half mile stretch north along the path and the other taking a half mile stretch south.

We will be joined by Medford Community Service officers to ensure our safety as we tackle this stretch of the Greenway.  Medford Parks and Recreation will be providing the garbage bags and pickup of filled bags upon completion.  We appreciate their help and support in this endeavor!

RECAP:

  • Meet in the parking lot of Railroad Park at 9 am

  • Hand out garbage bags and go over safety guidelines

  • Walk to the Greenway and split into two groups

  • Perform an amazing CITO on the area

  • Meet back in the parking lot for light snacks

  • Spend the rest of the day feeling amazing for cleaning up our gameboard!

We hope to see everyone come out and support CITO as we work to make a difference in our community!
