"Copy, Ground Control - we are Flight Golf-Charlie-Six-Three-Charlie-Six-One. Over."

"Confirmed, Turtle 628. What is your request?”

“Turtle 628 here.  We are a fully-loaded, gold-wing, box-back amphibious craft en route to Rib Mountain, and we have encountered radar pings from multiple sources in our flight path.  We are requesting an eyes-on report of the target area. Over.”

“Wis Kid here.  Stand By, Turtle 628.”

“Turtle 628 standing by. Over.”

{Time passes}

“Turtle 628, this is Wis Kid from Ground Control.  Be advised that the Rib Mountain landing zone is presently completely fogged in, and is not, repeat NOT available for landing.  What is your condition? Over.”

“Wis Kid, Turtle 628 here.  We have encountered unexpected delays with some of our previous stops and are running low on fuel, but we have enough to locate an alternate landing area.  What do you recommend? Over.”

“Turtle 628, this is Wis Kid.  Do you see any openings?”

“Turtle 628 here.  There appears to be a small landing zone visible on the edge of a pond.  There are some trees in the area, but we should be able to maneuver to the landing zone with no difficulty. New target coordinates are N 44° 55.831 W 089° 40.655 Over.”

“Turtle 628, this is Wis Kid.  Remember that regulations stipulate you must have a minimum of 528 feet of clearance from all other aircraft when you make your landing.”

“Affirmative, Wis Kid.  We have confirmed minimum clearance with all other craft in the area.”

“Turtle 628, have you obtained local authorization? Over.”

“Affirmative, Wis Kid.  Flight Plan form 2500-118 was filed with the DNR and has been signed by William H Bursaw, Rib Mountain State Park Property Manager. Over.”

“Turtle Airlines, Flight 628, this is Wis Kid from Ground Control.  You have permission to land.  I will send out a general notice and ground crews should reach your destination in a matter of hours.”

“10-4, Wis Kid, and thank you.  This is Turtle Airlines Flight 628, over and out.”
