THE AWARDS
The Annual ACT Cache Awards presentation will be held on the
weekend of Saturday March 14 and Sunday March 15, 2009 with the
award presentation taking place from 11.30am on Sunday at Molonglo
Gorge, ACT
Log into the ACT Forum to view the nominations and to get the
details on how to vote.
Nominations are open until 6pm on February 20 and the categories
are:
- Best Cache
- Best Location
- Most Original Cache
- Best Photo
Voting will start on February 23 and run until 6pm on March 13,
2009.
As per previous years we are attempting to arrange prizes from
local businesses for the winners, if anybody has any contacts that
will assist with this or anyone is willing to make a donation
please contact us.
There are BBQ facilities available in the park so bring along a
picnic, a chair, your friends and family as well as your caching
stories.
As with other years we will be holding a game to coincide with
the event, however unlike previous years the game will not be held
during the event but the 24 hours prior to the event.
THE GAME
As with previous years there will be a game held to conincide
with the Act Caching Awards event.
This years game will be based on the TV series 24 and prizes
will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, if you would like to
make a gold coin donation towards the prizes to help offset the
costs there will be a container available on the day.
Game Details
The following will take place between 12pm Saturday March 14 and
12pm Sunday March 15
There will be 24 micro caches each containing an item related to
the TV series, hidden across the Canberra region, each item will be
assigned a point value.
As a member of the CTU (Cache Targetting Unit) your mission is
to attempt to locate as many of the 24 caches within a 24 hour
period as you can.
The agent who has collected the highest total of item points will
be declared the winner
Game Rules
- To become an agent in the elite CTU you must attend a
briefing
session to be held on Saturday March 14 at Molonglo Gorge
- Registration will begin at 11am, with the briefing session at
11.45am and the search starting at exactly 12 noon.
- Game cards must be returned to
the
organisers no later than 12 noon Sunday March 15 at the Cache
Award
event
Details here to be held in the same location as the game
start.
- Game pieces are not to be removed from the caches, but
the
items will need to be listed on the supplied game cards
