Geocache Description:

Everyone has a story... This is part of ours.

The date? Friday March 21, 2014.

The place? Horsetooth Resevoir, Fort Collins, Colorado, United States of America, North American Continent, Earth, Sol System, Milky Way Galaxy.

The day itself was actually rather nice for early spring in Colorado.  The temperature was in the upper 50s, lower 60s - perfect weather for caching. Though, the wind was blowing in another reminder that we live in Colorado. Regardless, [ftc]kayes got the notion in his head that today was the day and what better way to pop the question than while geocaching? Geocaching, that one thing that we all have in common and that music_as_mission introduced him to when they first started dating and had become a rather central activity in their lives.

He had intentionally picked out a handful of caches to find around the resevoir, having pick the perfect spot to ask his question a week before. Now all he had to do was wait for the beautiful music_as_mission to get home so they could go on "just another" geocaching adventure. She finally got home around 2 and they headed out shortly after, intent on starting with caches farther to the west and working their way back east. By the time they reached the resevoir, however, the time was getting close to when [ftc]kayes had asked his covert photographer to arrive at the Spot, so he tried to rush along in finding the first couple of caches along Inlet Bay (which we all know by now, that rushing while caching doesn't help get anything done!) so that they could be in the right place at the right time. Needless to say, it took a little longer to get where they were going, but they arrived after posting several finds and enjoying the afternoon.

Being closer to 4 by the time they arrived at this spot, [ftc]kayes had started feeling the nerves that go along with any important, life altering event. He knew she would say, "Yes." They'd talked about it several times already and knew how they both felt about each other, but there was always the nagging doubt, what if she said, "No."?

Claiming that he needed to work out a cramp from their hurried hike (his fault, he admitted), [ftc]kayes began down the nearby path to the waterside with music_as_mission at his side. After reaching the Spot, he ducked around the back side of Gordo's rock to make sure his photographer knew they were there and to wait for the Key to start snapping photos.  A short, sweet, heartfelt speech saw [ftc]kayes on his knee with a ring in his hand in front of music_as_mission as he asked her to be his wife.

To make a long story short, she said, "Yes."

Have an epic tale that occured while geocaching? Feel free to share it with us! We'd love to hear it!

Congratulations to Niblit Sr on FTF!!
