Located at the Cedar Falls Overlook in Petit Jean State Park, this cache is an area that offers spectacular views of Cedar Falls, which plunges 95 feet to the canyon floor below, and the canyon downstream of the falls. And, unlike my other caches in the Park, this one is wheelchair friendly! However, this view also makes it a muggle-rich area, so extreme stealth and caution must be used when searching for this cache.
The cache is a log-only micro-container and should be easy to locate. When you find this cache please take note how it is hidden and replace it back as you found it so those following you may experience the same challenge. And PLEASE be discrete when retrieving and replacing the cache!
Please note that the park trails close at dusk, in accordance with state park regulations. Do NOT start your search if you cannot be off the trail by nightfall and do NOT search at night.
You may note that your GPSr indicates another cache within the 0.1-mile limit for placing caches. However, the other cache that is near, the Cedar Falls Cache, is located nearly 200 vertical feet below, and can only be accessed by a 2-mile roundtrip hike from Mather Lodge. So an exception to this placement rule was granted.
