Kohde
Jääkauden jälkeen sulavan jään edustalla oli laaja järvi tai avomeri. Veden pinnan taso laski vaiheittain ja pysytteli eri tasoilla vuosituhansia. Muinaisrannan irtokivet ovat aallokossa hioutuneet lähes pallomaisiksi. Maan kohoaminen on nostanut muinaiset rannat kymmenien metrien korkeuteen. Esim. Yoldia-meren rantataso on Helsingin tienoilla nykyään noin 60 m korkeudessa ja Litorina-meren rantataso noin 20-30 m korkeudella.
Myllykallion laella olevan Valtaistuin-kätkön läheisyyden vuoksi tätä kätköpurkkia ei voinut asettaa itse Litorina-rannalle vaan sen lähelle. Viereisen leikkikentän luoteisnurkasta nousee jyrkähkö kävelytie Myllykalliolle. Vasemmalla puolella tietä kallion juurella näet kaunismuotoisen pienehköistä pyöreistä kivistä muodostuvan Litorina-kautisen rantakivikon. Rantakivikko jatkuu ylempänä tien toiselle puolelle. Toinen hyvin muodostunut Litorina-rantakivikko löytyy ylhäältä tien vierestä oikealta niinikään kallion rajalta. Taustan kivikkokuva on tästä kohteesta. Älä siirtele kiviä tai vaurioita kivien sammalpeitettä liikkuessasi.
Jos vielä jaksat kulkea Myllykallion yli vastakkaiselle pohjoisrinteelle, siellä oleva koirapuisto on perustettu muinaiselle Litorina-rantakivikolle ja kuluneesta pohjasta paljastuvat pyöreäksi hioutuneet rantakivet. Tämä laajahko ranta-alue jatkuu koirapuiston ulkopuolellekin.
Target
After the last Ice age the level of Baltic Sea has changed in several phases. Each phase lasted several thousands of years. The stones of the old sea shore have been rounded by waves. Land upheaval after the Ice age has elevated the old strands to several tenths of meters. Around Helsinki area, the old Yoldia shore can now be found at about 60 meters hight and the Litorina shore at 20-30 meters hight.
Log your visit in the cache and visit the nearby Litorina shores. Go to the nearby playground. In the NW-corner of the playdround there goes a pathway up to Myllykallio. Go that way and soon you will see on the left side a well formed Litorina-shore with rounded stones just below the rock. The Litorina-shore continues upwards across the road. Another well formed Litorina-shore can be seen on the right side below the rock wall. The background picture is taken from this upper strand formation. Do not move stones or disturb the moss cover of the rounded stones.
On the opposite northern side of Myllykallio there is a dog park, which is grounded on a Litorina shore. You can see the rounded stones on the erased bottom of the dog park.

Kuinka pääset / How to reach
Myllykallion jyrkillä poluilla ja puistoteillä voi liikkua jalan tai retkipyörällä. Erottajalta lähtevä bussilinja 20 kulkee Myllykallion eteläpuolella pitkin Isokaarta. Lähimmät pysäkit: Kuikkarinne tai Takaniementie. Omat autot voi jättää ympäröiville lähikaduille. Talvella kätkön terrain-arvo on korkeampi ja muinaisranta todennäköisesti lumen peitossa.
You can move by foot or mountain bike on the steep pathways of Myllykallio. The bus 20 from Erottaja goes along Isokaari on the southern side of Myllykallio. Nearest bus stops are: Kuikkarinne or Takaniementie. Leave own cars along nearby streets. During winter the terrain-value of the cache is higher and the ancient shore often covered by snow.
