Geocache Description:

Cache is hidden within 1.5 metres of the Interurban Rail Trail. Please respect the residents’ property and hide as found. This cache was hidden as part of the 3rd Vancouver Island Hide-&-Go Cache.

From 1913 – 1924 the B.C. Electric Railway operated a commuter and freight train that ran north up Burnside Road, Interurban Road and on to Wallace Drive, passing through Brentwood Bay and Saanichton, to arrive finally at Deep Cove (the northwestern tip of the peninsula). Much of this route is now paved roadway but there is a beautiful stretch that has been designated as part of the Saanich 100 year Centennial Trail project. Most of the trail is shared with local traffic so please watch for vehicles.
