Geocache Description:

Pooh & Roo’s Treasure Hunt: Three Mile View is part of a series of Treasure Hunt caches that will take you on a loop of the Michael Ciaiola Conservation Area in Patterson, New York.

This particular cache will take you on a hike in the 100 Acre Wood to look for A Very Large, But well Hidden, Ammo Can close to A Scenic View at an elevation of 1100 feet (335 metres).

The Three Mile View Cache is located close to a little-known Scenic View along the Yellow Trail. Along the way you’ll pass through woods, see some waterfalls, Heffalump Traps and, maybe even spot Woozles. There are several places you might park, but Haviland Hollow Rd. is convenient and will allow you to pass the Four Guards cache, visit our Mountain Expotition, and then continue to the Three Mile View, passing stage one of the The Multi-Falls cache along the way.

The first time Tigger found this cache he Bounced all the way up the hill to find out that the cache was close to the trail after all. Clever Geocachers will know to Trust The Trail and that bushwhacking is not required.

If you find yourself facing an impossibly steep climb, then you are either going for a different cache in this series or you are totally lost. If you are totally lost, then consult the trail map. If the trail map doesn’t help, then listen for the sound of water and follow the water downstream. If you cannot find the stream, then you are not in 100 Acre Wood. If you are not in 100 Acre Wood, then we hope you are at least outdoors and enjoying yourself.

Children, please look after your parents when approaching this cache as even though it is placed away from the edge, your parents may trip over something and hurt themselves. If there has been some recent rain it might get muddy and slippery as well, so please use caution.

This cache contains Many Things of Winnie the Pooh and Friends, both Classic and Disney. Please try to keep to the young-at-heart theme. As placed, we left new Toys, Markers, a Pencil Case, Bookplates, Hand-Warmers, a TB or two, and Lots of other Neat Stuff.

From this cache, continue along the Yellow Trail until you meet up once again with the Orange Trail. You should then turn left and continue on the Orange Trail and you will circle back whence you came. Trail maps on this page, in the cache, and at the trail-head, should help with getting un-lost on the way home. Please note that the Orange Trail is the Orange Trail and not the Orange and White Trail and it is also not the Orange and Green Trail. (Seriously).

The First-To-Find Prize is a new copy of the Winnie the Pooh paperback. A personal coin and signature items will be sent at a later date and after we learn how to spell forthcoming.

This cache also contains a disposable camera for recording your visit to this Thoughtful Spot. Extra Points will be awarded if you take your photograph with someone, or something, from 100 Acre Wood. We will collect the camera and post the pictures as the camera fills up. Please be sure to cover the cache well, as it is not far off of the trail and Muggle discovery is possible!
