Fort Caroline National Memorial is a National Park located in Jacksonville commemorating the first planned French settlement in the New World in the 1560's. Use caution when walking the paths along the bluffs and near the river. It is wise to use bug repellent. If there has been a lot of rain recently, be prepared for standing water. Picnicking is permitted in the park, but no fires or grills are allowed.
