Geocache Description:

This series is placed in pretty woodland near my home, where I walk my dog most days. This cache is a small cameo'd clip lock box. ** PLEASE NOTE In each container there is a letter and number to collect so that you can solve the puzzle-and find the last container. The footpaths are good but can get muddy. The only downside is the traffic noise from the nearby road which does get less noticable as you get into the woods although this cache is probably the noisiest!

Parking is available on the nearby roads although it can get a bit busy when there are lots of visitors at the Museum-a branch of the Natural History Museum and well worth a visit whilst you are in the area. Tring is a small market town-with plenty of cafes and restaurants. Stubbing's Wood is owned by Dacorum Borough Council and the caches are placed with permission of the Woodland Officer. Those of you old enough to remember the prediction by weatherman Michael Fish will recall that he said there would be no gales. Next morning we all woke up to find much damage including here where large swathes of woodland lay flattened. These trees are some of the last remaining examples in the area.
