Geocache Description:

This is a reverse whereigo church micro. You need to go to the church find the information required and utilise the numbers you gather to unlock the whereigo cartridge.

The graveyard at Falkirk Old and St Modan's Parish Church, known as the Faw Kirk, contains important historical memorials from the era of William Wallace, the Battle of Falkirk 1298 and the second Battle of Falkirk in 1746.

Faw Kirk was the first church erected in the town of Falkirk which is believed to have given rise to the town’s name.

Falkirk Old and St Modan’s Parish Church stands today on the site of the historic Faw Kirk, which was probably the first Christian structure in town. Along with the tombs and monuments in the churchyard and surrounding area, the site is becoming a popular place to visit with both international tourists and locals alike as the burial ground is a resting place of William Wallace’s finest knight, Sir John de Graham, whose body is said to have been carried from the battlefield and laid to rest in the kirkyard by William Wallace himself.

About Wherigo Reverse Caches:

Wherigo Reverse Caches were inspired by the original Reverse Geocache Puzzle Instead of using that box of tricks to find this reverse Whereigo cache you will use the cartridge which you will have to download and install on your device before you go out to find this reverse cache.

The cartridge for the Wherigo version was developed by Waldmeister and has been re-used in many difference caches.

The three six-digit numbers to activate the cartridge are usually given on the cache pages but I have made this one so cachers have to visit the church and learn the history surrounding it.

About this Geocache:

To find the cache you will need to download thisWherigo cartridge to a compatible device.

This cartridge will tell you how far it is to the final location but not the direction - you will have to work that out for yourself.
